California

The coin pictured above is a beautifully toned example. It is a PCGS 68+, a POP 2, and has a pedigree of David Schweitz and Larry Shepherd. Californias can come toned; just make sure the toning is eye-appealing. The coin has an attractive design, and having an attractive toned example on both sides is a real treat.

There is a good amount of memorabilia concerning the 75th Anniversary of California becoming a state. There is not a lot concerning the coin itself. For example, there are no holders seen, as of yet. David Swiatek mentions that some businesses offered the coin in cardboard holders, but these are extremely rare. Other items, such as pin backs, medal badges, programs, and picture booklets of the Celebration, can be found, occasionally.
